Chordal, the leading innovator in music rights technology that recently announced partnerships with Kobalt Music and TikTok, today announced that Futures Music Group, the next-generation independent label collective cofounded by Neon Gold’s Derek Davies and Avenue A’s Dave Wallace, is joining its enterprise sync licensing technology platform. Futures’ roster includes Mt. Joy, Phantogram, Cavetown, The Knocks, and Barns Courtney. Alongside Futures, Neon Gold has already left a lasting imprint on modern pop, launching seminal early releases from Passion Pit, Charli XCX, Christine & the Queens, Tove Lo, and Marina & the Diamonds, and continues to serve as a vital tastemaker label with an active roster and over 15 billion streams and 10 million albums sold to date. Meanwhile, Avenue A’s roster boasts breakthrough alternative success stories like that of Barns Courtney, Blossoms, Palace, and Self Esteem.

The partnership signals Chordal’s continuing strength in the indie music space, and accompanies the news today of eight additional music companies coming on board to Chordal. The other companies joining today’s announcement are Red Bull Records, Nice Life, Phoenix Music International, Jazz is Dead, Unity Group, Pravda Records, San Juan Music Group, and In Real Life. Together, these partners represent a diverse creative community of cutting-edge, independent, and global talent across the music industry now connected to Chordal’s network.

This announcement continues the strong momentum behind Chordal’s mission to modernize sync licensing and make it faster, more transparent, and more equitable for all rights holders.  Futures and the other new signings add to a growing roster of leading independent and major-affiliated rights holders already using Chordal, including two of Chordal’s biggest deals to date with Kobalt Music Publishing – marking the first time Kobalt has fully integrated with a third-party platform to power its global sync operations – and TikTok, which integrated Chordal’s patent-pending pre-clearance InstantClear™ technology into TikTok’s Commercial Music Library to help artists, publishers, and labels monetize music more easily in branded content.

“Futures was built from the ground up to empower our artists and labels with access to the most innovative technologies and partners across the music and music tech ecosystems,” said Derek Davies, Co-CEO of Futures Music Group and Founder of Neon Gold. “Chordal is bringing new clarity and connectivity to the licensing space, pushing the sync industry forward faster than any other company and we're thrilled to be a part of the amazing work they're doing to streamline and maximize sync opportunities for artists."

“We’re proud to welcome these incredible new partners to Chordal,” said Tilo Dell’Oro Maini, co-founder and Head of Catalog of Chordal. “Each new company that joins our platform helps us move the industry closer to a smarter, more connected, and more creative licensing ecosystem.”
