Inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet and Wynton Marsalis’ To A Young Jazz Musician, Letters to a Young Athlete finds Bosh reflecting on his life-to-date, from his Texas youth and Hall Of Fame NBA career to fatherhood and his post-playing ambitions. With a foreword by Miami Heat President and legendary NBA coach Pat Riley,Letters To A Young Athlete is a humble and honest look into the mind of an elite athlete who has a holistic and empathic approach to the pursuit of success, both on and off the court.
Chris Bosh recently joined The Tim Ferriss Show for a discussion on reinventing yourself, Leonardo Da Vinci, and writing Letters To A Young Athlete. Listen HERE.
Following his playing career, Bosh continues to be busy not only with his writing pursuits — alongside Letters To A Young Athlete, he also produces a weekly newsletter The Last Chip and recently authored an op-ed for The Player’s Tribune on college athletics — but with his rich family life, philanthropic efforts, and musical passions. He’s produced tracks for Gucci Mane and heads his own Austin based label, Daddy Jack, which looks to be extremely active in the latter stages of 2021.
Earlier this month, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame named Chris Bosh as an inductee to the Hall Of Fame Class Of 2021. Praise For Letters To A Young Athlete
“On the court, Chris Bosh was a rare superstar who put his team above himself. His book is a wise, candid look behind the scenes at what made him great and how he made others even greater. It should be required reading for up-and-coming athletes—and their parents, teachers, and coaches too.” —Adam Grant, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Think Again and host of the TED podcast WorkLife
“CB was the ultimate teammate and competitor. As his coach, I learned so much about leadership, sacrifice, and persevering through great challenges and adversity. His basketball experiences are deep and loaded with life lessons. Whether you want to improve as an athlete or just gain more thoughtful perspective on this game of life, you will be inspired by this book!” —Coach Erik Spoelstra
