Chris Bosh hits the (virtual) road this June for a promo tour in support of the author, music exec, and NBA legend’s first book, the inspirational and motivational Letters To a Young Athlete. Bosh’s publisher Penguin Press confirmed preliminary details of the tour, which is Bosh’s first professional road trip since retiring from his playing career in 2017. All virtual events, which include partnerships with local independent bookstores like Austin’s BookPeople and Miami’s Books & Books, will feature Bosh in conversation about Letters To A Young Athlete and the life experiences that informed its genesis. Letters To A Young Athlete is Bosh's first book. Inspired by literary predecessors ranging from Rainer Maria Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet to Wynton Marsalis’ To A Young Jazz MusicianLetters to a Young Athlete is a tour de force of wisdom and mentorship, a generous and open examination of what real success is and how to achieve it. With a foreword by Miami Heat President and mentor Pat Riley, Letters To A Young Athlete brings spiritual context to Bosh’s journey, from a youth dedicated to basketball practices and robotics club to a career at the pinnacle of athletic achievement. Bosh describes his approach to the inner game of success — the right attitude, right commitment, right flow within a team — with a thoughtful and personal approach that resonates down to his personal sign-off at the end of each chapter.

An 11-time NBA All-Star, 2-time NBA champion and an Olympic gold medalist, Bosh continues to pursue excellence in his family life, philanthropic efforts, and musical passions while budgeting time to write 1000 words a day and produce his weekly newsletter The Last Chip. He’s produced tracks for Gucci Mane and heads his own Austin based label, Daddy Jack, which looks to be extremely active in the latter stages of 2021.

Praise For Letters To A Young Athlete

“On the court, Chris Bosh was a rare superstar who put his team above himself. His book is a wise, candid look behind the scenes at what made him great and how he made others even greater. It should be required reading for up-and-coming athletes—and their parents, teachers, and coaches too.” —Adam Grant, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Think Again and host of the TED podcast WorkLife

“CB was the ultimate teammate and competitor. As his coach, I learned so much about leadership, sacrifice, and persevering through great challenges and adversity. His basketball experiences are deep and loaded with life lessons. Whether you want to improve as an athlete or just gain more thoughtful perspective on this game of life, you will be inspired by this book!” —Coach Erik Spoelstra
