Today, PJ Morton releases the deluxe edition of Christmas with PJ Morton, extending his beloved holiday album through brand new takes on a couple of classics: a shimmering, string-laden rendition of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" (feat. Sheléa) and a strutting soul inversion of "White Christmas," full of horns and the hope for some snow in New Orleans.

As The New Yorker says, "Getting in a festive mood isn't a tall order with Morton's buttery-smooth vocals coming through the speakers," and when Christmas with PJ Morton first came out in 2018 it quickly became the year's "surprise stocking stuffer" (Entertainment Weekly). Between a reggae "Winter Wonderland," a funk flip of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" (feat. Stokley) and a New Orleans bounce arrangement of "This Christmas" (feat. HaSizzle), Morton delivered a fresh experience of seasonal staples, winning the "unofficial award for best R&B Christmas album" (Variety).

The original songs on Christmas with PJ Morton include "Peyton's Lullaby (Right Away)" - written by Morton to his eight-year-old daughter - and "Do You Believe," which features Yolanda Adams and recently appeared on Morton's chart-topping, BET & Dove Award-nominated album, Gospel According to PJ.

As the son of two pastors, Christmas has always been a momentous and musical occasion for Morton, and between Gospel According to PJ and Christmas with PJ Morton, 2020 saw him embracing his church roots like he hasn't since childhood. He also continued his never-ending ascent as one of R&B's brightest stars, beginning the year by winning the GRAMMY for Best R&B Song and now preparing to celebrate three nominations at this month's Soul Train Awards: Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Best Gospel/Inspirational Award and the Soul Train Certified Award.
