Clare Dunn defines what makes a real cowboy in new music video

Country artist Clare Dunn, who is known for her “serious guitar prowess” (Rolling Stone) and soulful powerhouse vocals, proves that there is power in waiting for the love that you deserve in her new “Holding Our For A Cowboy” music video, which premiered yesterday (10.27) via CMT, here: cmt.com/news/1838625/cmt-premiere-clare-dunn-holding-out-for-a-cowboy-gets-her-back-out-into-the-country

“I really was sick of the city and all the games that get played there, both in love and in life, and wanted to get back out into the country I’m from,” says Dunn. “I decided I’d rather hold out for the right thing, than chase some illusion of happiness. It’s the visual of what I was going through, what I wanted, and what I saw could be possible at the time me and Whitney (Phillips) were writing the song.”

Filmed on her family’s ranch in Southeast Colorado, “Holding Out For A Cowboy” brings Dunn back to her roots, even insisting her long-time rancher neighbor to play the role of her “cowboy” in the video. In the “soulful” (PEOPLE) song, Dunn finds her own self worth and doesn’t settle for anything less than she deserves.

Dunn also shared a stripped version of the song, here: youtu.be/mN7CvfwwOT0

Dunn is currently CMT’s Next Women of Country Artist of the Month for October, and she recently discussed her ‘In This Kind of Light’ EP (8.13 via Big Yellow Dog Music) with American Songwriter for its Off The Record series HERE. For more information on Clare Dunn, visit biglink.to/ClareDunn.
