Coffey Anderson Finds Inspiration Through Wife's Cancer Journey in "Blessed" — out Today (4.29)

Poignant Tune Featured on Forthcoming 8-Track ‘Come On With It’ EP, Due June 17

Riser House Records' Coffey Anderson finds beauty through life's struggles in his new heartfelt tune, 'Blessed,' out today (4.29). Written by Sean Squires, Stephen Hunley and Bobby McLamb, the poignant track sparks a vision of hope and gratification in the face of adversity, as it speaks to all that life throws our way — and above all, reminds us how our blessings always outweigh our battles.

LISTEN TO "BLESSED"

"If I had to describe this song in three words, they would be 'bigger than us,'" Anderson explains. "As many know, my wife, Criscilla, was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in 2018. After years of treatment, we finally got the news that she was in remission last fall, and that experience truly put everything into perspective for our family. The first time I heard this song, I knew I wanted to release it, but it was already on hold with another major artist. Then Bobby McLamb, one of the writers on the tune, found out about Criscilla's journey. As a cancer survivor himself, he was inspired by our story, and he decided he wanted me to be the one to release the tune. I couldn't be more grateful and excited for fans to hear it."

"Blessed" is the latest offering from Anderson's forthcoming 'Come On With It' EP. Due out June 17, the 8-track collection serves as the Bangs, TX, native's first full project in more than three years and features a collaboration with Kentucky troubadour Dillon Carmichael alongside tunes written by some of country music's biggest hitmakers, including Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and Jon Pardi. The collection of tunes continues to build on Anderson's neo-traditional style — a signature, nostalgia-driven sound that has defined the trailblazer's career for more than 20 years and led to his starring role in the Netflix reality series about his life, 'Country Ever After.'

Today's release follows in the footsteps of 'America Is My Hometown,' a blue-collar tribute to the Red, White & Blue, and 'Good To You,' a driving ode to the hallmarks of a solid relationship, which served as the debut offering from 'Come On With It.' The EP is available now for preorder here

Anderson is set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut on Tues., May 3, and fans can keep up with what's to come from him by visiting coffeyanderson.com.
