LOS ANGELES, CA – Comedy Dynamics announced today it has acquired Graham Elwood and Chris Mancini’s documentary film Ear Buds: The Podcasting Documentary.
Ear Buds: The Podcasting Documentary not only features interviews with podcasting luminaries such as Chris Hardwick, Joe Rogan, Doug Benson, Marc Maron, Aisha Tyler, Todd Glass and many more, but also explores the unique bond that exists between podcasters and their diverse fan bases across the world, unparalleled by any other form of media. The film was directed by Graham Elwood, and written and executive produced by Chris Mancini and Graham Elwood. Other producers include Kimberley Browning, Joseph Levy, and Keith Blomberg.
“As a big fan of podcasts myself, I’m excited that Comedy Dynamics gets to play a small part in this film’s release!” said Brian Volk-Weiss, CEO of Comedy Dynamics.
Graham Elwood and Chris Mancini are both award-winning filmmakers and comedians who have both screened and spoken at film festivals across the globe. They created ComedyFilmNerds.com, host the Comedy Film Nerds Podcast and have released their critically-acclaimed book, The Comedy Film Nerds Guide to Movies. They are also co-founders of The Los Angeles Podcast Festival.
“As we were shooting that unique personal connection between podcasters and fans became more real and even more personal for me than I ever imagined. Making this film has changed the way I view technology and the way we use it to connect with each other,” said Chris Mancini.
"While performing for the US Military in Iraq, a commanding officer told me that whenever comedy shows came through, the suicide rate would drop. I never thought podcasts could have the same impact… until we filmed Ear Buds,” said Graham Elwood.
