Comedy Dynamics Pacts With The Lenny Bruce Memorial Foundation To Distribute Lenny Bruce Is Out Again

LOS ANGELES, CA – Comedy Dynamics has announced that they have teamed up with the Lenny Bruce Memorial Foundation to distribute a previously unreleased album titled Lenny Bruce Is Out Again. It will be released on SiriusXM and Pandora on June 26, 2020. A limited edition Record Store Day Vinyl was scheduled to release on April 18, 2020, but has been rescheduled along with Record Store Day to September 26, 2020 (https://recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/11991).

Lenny Bruce is the grandfather of modern comedy to many comedic minds worldwide. He is still renowned for his open, free-style and critical form of comedy, which blended satire, politics, sex, and religion to shed light on hypocrisy in an observational manner. Bruce paved the way for outspoken comedians who challenged societal norms and pushed counter-culture into the world of stand up comedy. In 1964 he was convicted of obscenity and the trial itself lead to a landmark judicial decision regarding freedom of speech in America in the 1960s. Rolling Stone ranked Lenny third on the list of the 50 best stand-up comedians of all time, behind Richard Pryor and George Carlin. In 1961 Bruce gave a memorable performance at Carnegie Hall in New York, which was recorded and later released as a three-disc set titled Lenny Bruce: The Carnegie Hall Concert. More recently, Lenny has appears regularly in The Marvelous Ms. Maisel, where his character is played by Luke Kirby.

“My father’s legacy was that of a freedom fighter for the first amendment therefore he touched every part of modern comedy,” said Kitty Bruce.

According to The Telegraph UK, Lenny described his style of comedy by saying, “I'm not a comedian. And I'm not sick. The world is sick and I'm the doctor. I'm a surgeon with a scalpel for false values.”

“Lenny is the icon of icons and most comics working today owe a debt of gratitude to Lenny for paving the way for what they do and how they do it. It’s a career high getting to know and work with Kitty,”. said Brian Volk-Weiss, CEO of Comedy Dynamics.
