Nashville-Based Nonprofit Receives $10,000 Surprise During Emotional, Two-Part Segment

CreatiVets Joins The Kelly Clarkson Show

Yesterday (5.5), Nashville-based nonprofit CreatiVets joined The Kelly Clarkson Show for an emotional, two-part segment that left Kelly herself in tears and resulted in a surprise $10,000 check for the organization, which aims to help combat veterans learn to cope with service-related trauma through the arts.

In an in-depth interview with Clarkson, CreatiVets' founder Richard Casper, shared a personal story of his time in service and the details behind what inspired him to launch CreatiVets. Later, he was joined by singer-songwriter Jesse Wayne Taylor and Army veteran Dan Couch — two men whose lives were forever changed after being paired in one of the organization's lauded songwriting programs.
