Thursday, September 12 - Today, Austin based alt-rock band Culture Wars release synth rock single “Miley” off of their upcoming debut album. The new track continues the Austin born band’s momentum with a pulsing rhythm that only halts for one shimmering moment in the bridge, finally crashing back into the catchy groove. The accompanying video was directed by Tim Mattia (Twenty One Pilots, The 1975, Halsey, Chris Stappleton & more).

Lead singer Alex Dugan says, “Miley is about the naivete of a young woman new to LA and navigating the womanizing men in her new town. Feeling lonely and falling for one liners that lead to nothing but one night stands despite knowing better. Unintentionally the song took a more 80’s influence in production with an electronic drum loop, keyboards and guitar.”

Made up of lead singer Alex Dugan, Caleb Contreras, Dillon Randolph, David Grayson and Josh Stirm, Culture Wars’ new hits “Heaven” (1.5M) and “Wasting My Time” have catapulted them into a thrilling new chapter bursting with raw and vibrant spirit. The infectious tracks combine the group’s penchant for lyrical depth with glossy pop-like hooks thanks to Alex Dugan’s soaring lead vocals.

ABOUT CULTURE WARS

Austin’s Culture Wars’ debut album arrives ready to connect with a generation starved for authenticity and provocation in their rock bands. Recorded at Sonic Ranch Recording Studio, 30 minutes outside El Paso, Texas; Hollywood’s United Recording (Sinatra, Radiohead); and Sunset Sound (The Doors, Prince), the young group’s moving debut album is set to be a breath of fresh air full of ambition and pure intentions. As the band’s name implies, seemingly disparate passions battle within the songs, somehow beautifully making peace.

Viral debut single "Heaven" (1.4M) off of the upcoming project has kick started a thrilling new chapter for Culture Wars. Bursting with raw energy, the infectious track combines the group’s penchant for lyrical depth with glossy pop-rock hooks thanks to Alex Dugan’s soaring lead vocals. With "Wasting My Time" and "Slowly" following, Culture Wars have already revealed the expertly crafted, ambitious rock catalog to come.

Culture Wars initially built a following through word-of-mouth and energetic live performances. Songs like “Faith” and “Lose Money” blew up on streaming services, contributing to the group’s widening audience. “Leave Me Alone,” featured on the GRAMMY-nominated Bill & Ted Face the Music soundtrack, enjoyed an organic boost from mega-influencers and became Culture Wars’ first Top 30 Alternative Rock hit.

Their new work combines the past, present, and future with bold swagger. They make honest, expertly crafted, ambitious rock music built to resonate with a diverse audience. The sound Culture Wars developed blends the most vital rock and alternative music elements, earnestly emphasizing actual guitars.
