You can't have the light without the dark. This sentiment runs through the core of Delta Rae's crowdfunded sister albums and is deeply explored with their latest single, “No One Will Miss Me," out today. Written during a period of serious depression, the song explores the twists and turns of trying to crawl out of the darkness. With its epic drums, claps and crescendos, "No One Will Miss Me" takes you on a journey through sadness that's as raw and honest as it is unexpected. Of the song, writer and lead vocalist Eric Hölljes said “I sometimes suffer from depression. I want people to know that they’re not alone if they suffer from despair or suicidal thoughts. Life is a mystery. We’re in it individually and together. This is a song that triumphantly stands in both of those truths. I want to invite people to stand there with me.”

"No One Will Miss Me" is another in a series of singles that prove that Delta Rae is a fearless and progressive force to be reckoned with, never afraid to use their music to take a stand in solidarity.

In a tweet posted following the launch of their single "Only in America": "We've never been a band to 'shut up and sing,' and--with the future of our democracy and the health of the planet on the line in this year's election--we don't plan to start now."

Thanks to the success of their July 2019 Kickstarter campaign announcing their independence from their label, they won't have to.

The Light is the most funded album for an independent band in Kickstarter history, raising $30,000 in 30 minutes, $60,000 in an hour and nearly half a million by campaign end. The album traces the band back to its origins in Durham, NC and celebrates the joys, mysteries and magic of life from the point of view of each of the four lead vocalists, with each song also tied to a specific card in The Tarot’s major arcana.

The group is embarking on the northeastern leg of a national tour, kicking off in Charlottesville, VA on April 7th, and taking their new album to New York, Boston, Atlanta, and more, setting the Southern storytellers up for an exciting and active spring.

About Delta Rae

Delta Rae is a genre-bending sextet based in Nashville, TN. Comprised of the Hölljes siblings—Ian, Eric, and Brittany—and rounded out by close friends vocalist Liz Hopkins, drummer Mike McKee and bassist Grant Emerson, this tight-knit group of musicians weaves together the sonic experimentation of Talking Heads with the mystical aesthetics and family dynamic of Fleetwood Mac and adds a country twang. After going independent and successfully running one the biggest Kickstarter campaign for an indie band in the fundraising platform’s history, Delta Rae is releasing their ambitious album entitled ‘The Light’ March 20th, the band’s first full-length collection in five years. With receiving praise by the likes of David Byrne for their protest songs and being covered by Billboard, NPR, Forbes, and Rolling Stone, Delta Rae has accrued over 30 million streams on Spotify, recorded alongside rock legend Lindsey Buckingham and have performed everywhere from The Tonight Show and Conan to festival slots at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and more.
