Dermot Kennedy Announces First US Shows In NYC And LA Following Release Of 'Doves & Ravens' EP

After selling out shows across Europe, including London and his hometown Dublin, Dermot Kennedy has announced his first US headlining shows in support of his new 'Doves & Ravens' EP, which came out earlier this month. Dermot will play with a full band at Resident in LA on June 7th, followed by another full band show at Brooklyn's Baby's All Right on June 15th. 'Doves & Ravens' features collaborations with Charlie Hugall (Halsey, Låpsley, Florence + The Machine) and Stephen Kozmeniuk (Kendrick Lamar), and has earned praise from Baeble Music, who says the EP will take you on "one hell of an emotional ride." Zane Lowe played EP cut "Glory" on his Beats 1 show earlier this month, and Clash Magazine called Dermot "something special," praising his "eloquent songwriting" and saying, "that art of balancing storytelling with realness makes his songs so evoking." 

 

Dermot draws inspiration from all the moments of brightness and darkness this world has to offer, crafting music that's at once soaring and intimate, stripped-back and explosive. Stuttery hip-hop and R&B-influenced percussion underpins his weathered vocals as he combines organic and electronic elements into an arresting, emotional blend that calls to mind the adventurous arrangements of Bon Iver, James Blake, and James Vincent McMorrow.
