Over the past year, TikTok has created a series of viral moments — from choreographed dances to comedy bits. Now, it’s giving musicians a new spotlight. Country artist Dillon Carmichael took to TikTok to share a performance of “Sawin’ Logs,” and after gaining more than 2.8 million views in just a few days, he knew he had to release it. “Sawin’ Logs” is available everywhere today, Thurs., Feb. 18 via Riser House Records.

"This song was sent to me last year, and I fell in love with it immediately,” says Carmichael. "Shayla and I have rocked out to this song since summer of 2020. I just really think the world needs a good laugh right now!”
Produced by Jon Pardi, “Sawin’ Logs” was penned by some of country music’s top songwriters, including Brice Long (Gary Allen, Randy Houser), Wynn Varble (Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley) and Brandon Kenny (Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan). With witty, hilarious and slightly raunchy lyrics and Carmichael’s lighthearted delivery, “Sawin’ Logs” offers listeners insight into country music’s candid humor.
After Carmichael’s TikTok fans encouraged him to release the new track, he took to social media to allow the fans to choose the single’s artwork as well, engaging them in a friendly competition to vote for the new art.
“Sawin’ Logs” follows Carmichael’s recently released “Hot Beer,” an “as authentic as it comes” (Billboard) single that was also produced by Jon Pardi. Carmichael also shared exciting news of his engagement to longtime girlfriend Shayla Whitson in a PEOPLE exclusive last week, here: people.com/country/dillon-carmichael-engaged-shayla-whitson-proposal-photos
