Dinked International Celebrates Launch With Exclusive 50th Anniversary Edition of Mort Garson's Plantasia, Among Other Releases From Dead Oceans, 4AD, and Matador Records Artists

Secretly Distribution Global Physical Head Shelly Worcel: "We are thrilled to participate in Dinked's next chapter as they expand internationally"

Secretly Distribution is proud to help introduce one of the UK's most proactive and industrious independent music retail projects to North America, furthering a shared love of music – and making sure people listen.

In partnership with Sacred Bones RecordsMort Garson's electronic masterpiece, Mother Earth's Plantasia, will be released in the US as a Dinked International Edition on September 4th, in celebration of the album's 50th Anniversary. Released in 1976 during the height of the indoor plant craze sparked by The Secret Life of PlantsPlantasia was created as "warm earth music for plants… and the people that love them." Recorded using the then new Moog synthesizer, the album blended whimsical melodies, lush electronic textures, and Garson's imagination into a one of a kind tribute to the natural world, gaining an enormous cult following decades after its release. What was once a strange artifact of 1970s plant-mania has become a true evergreen, flourishing far beyond its original moment.

The inaugural Dinked International releases, announced earlier this summer, were reissues of Pixies' Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde, both containing previously unreleased bonus tracks. Dinked has also collaborated with Matador Records on an edition of This Is Lorelei's The Singer In My Band, and Dead Oceans on an edition of Phoebe Bridgers' Lost Weekend.

Sacred Bones RecordsDead Oceans4AD, and Matador are thrilled to work with Dinked to expand its operations to a new, international cohort of equally passionate and forward-thinking independent retailers, and reaching a wider group of global fans.

Run by Natasha Youngs (Resident Music, Brighton) and Rupert Morrison (formerly of Drift Records, Totnes), Dinked UK is a not-for-profit collaboration and collective of 36 like-minded, passionate, independent record shops geographically spread across the UK and Ireland, and now 15 more in the US. Over its past eight years, Dinked has worked on 400+ new release campaigns and 30+ special archive editions that have led to 250,000+ records sold for artists of all sizes and sounds, continuing to prove that independent music companies are stronger together.

"Secretly Distribution has long been a fan of Dinked and its focus on bringing independent labels, fans, and retail shops together to support those artists who are making the world's most exciting music. We are thrilled to participate in the next chapter, as they expand internationally, working with some of the US's most forward-thinking retailers."
