DJ Shadow Announces First U.S. Tour Since 2017, On Heels Of “Transcendent” (The Ringer) Double Album Our Pathetic Age

DJ Shadow has announced a North American run of performances for May, the pioneering DJ and producer’s first tour since 2017. It includes Webster Hall in NYC, El Rey Theater in LA and Lightning In A Bottle Festival on top of a February run in Europe and the UK and Primavera Sound in Barcelona in June.

Today he also unveiled the music video for “Slingblade,” created by Japanese creative studio w0w and directed by Ryo Kitabatake:

The run follows DJ Shadow’s ambitious double album Our Pathetic Age. The first suite is all instrumental and features the largest amount of original composition that Shadow has ever released. The second suite is a full album of vocal collaborations, featuring everyone from Nas and members of Wu Tang to Samuel T. Herring and Paul Banks. The album has been met with raves and a performance with De La Soul on Jimmy Kimmel Live just after its release in November:

The New Yorker also just published their piece with DJ Shadow, reported from the stacks and listening room at the New York Public Library:
