Downtown Expands Global Leadership Team

Former Nielsen Exec Anne-Taylor “AT” Adams Joins Downtown to Lead Global Communications

David Dormon Joins as Legal Counsel and Director of Acquisitions

NEW YORK, April 10, 2019 — Downtown Music Holdings, the parent company of Downtown Music Publishing, Songtrust(R), and AVL Digital Group, has expanded its global leadership team with the appointment of Anne-Taylor “AT” Adams as Senior Vice President of Global Communications. Based in New York and reporting to CEO Justin Kalifowitz, Adams will oversee the global communications strategy for Downtown Music Holdings and its portfolio companies.

“I am thrilled AT is joining Downtown at such a transformational time in our industry. Her thoughtful perspective and strategic experience from across entertainment and technology make her an invaluable addition to our global leadership team, an important partner to all of our portfolio companies, and a tireless advocate for the creators we serve around the world,” said Downtown CEO Justin Kalifowitz.

Adams brings nearly 20 years of experience working at the intersection of media, entertainment, and technology. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications for Nielsen, the global measurement and data analytics company, where she oversaw global media relations, executive communications, crisis management, industry relations, and corporate events across 106 countries. Her tenure with Nielsen also included international assignments based in Latin America and Sub-Sahara Africa. Previously, Adams led corporate communications for AppNexus, the cloud-based advertising technology company acquired by AT&T, and was part of the strategic communications team behind the successful SiriusXM Radio merger. She began her career in Washington, D.C. working for the influential Consumer Technology Association (CTA).

“I’m truly delighted to be joining Downtown during this exciting period of growth. The company’s singular vision, impressive technology, and bright prospects -- all of which are underpinned by a deep, authentic commitment to creators -- make Downtown a unique and much-needed voice within the industry,” said Adams.

Additionally, Downtown recently hired David Dormon as Legal Counsel and Director of Acquisitions, reporting directly to Downtown’s General Counsel Peter Rosenthal. In this role, Dormon works closely with executive management, business development, finance and other relevant teams across Downtown’s various business holdings on the strategy, execution and integration of acquisitions of music assets and companies, in addition to providing legal counsel on various corporate matters. Prior to joining Downtown, Dormon was an associate with the international law firm Vedder Price, as well as Katten Muchin Rosenman. He holds a J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School, and a B.A. from Tufts University.

These additions to the Downtown Music team come at a time of unprecedented growth for the company. Earlier this month, Downtown Music Holdings completed the acquisition of AVL Digital Group and its portfolio of industry-leading music distribution, rights management and artist services businesses, including AdRev(R), CD Baby(R), DashGoSM and Soundrop(R). As a result of the acquisition, Downtown Music Holdings is the leading provider of end-to-end services to artists, songwriters, labels, music publishers and other rights holders. Its global footprint spans across markets in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America.
