Downtown New York, NY (April 1, 2015) - Downtown Music Publishing (DMP) has appointed Taeko Saito to the role of International A&R as announced today by Justin Kalifowitz, CEO of Downtown Music Publishing. Prior to joining Downtown, Taeko was an A&R executive at SONGS Music Publishing, where she was involved in signing artists such as Diplo, DJ Mustard, Morgan Kibby of M83, Marsha Ambrosius, St. Paul And The Broken Bones and The Weeknd.
Before joining SONGS, Taeko spent five years working with top songwriters at AAM, including Dr. Luke, Benny Blanco, Lindy Robbins, Evan Bogart, Leah Haywood, and many others, where she developed her ability to bridge pop music between Asia and America. Over the past decade, Taeko has placed many top charting hits in Asia with artists such as Girls' Generation, Namie Amuro, and Tomohisa Yamashita. Having her ears to the ground not only in the United States, but also Japan and South Korea, Taeko provides Downtown's roster of active songwriters a global creative capability that is unique in contemporary music publishing.
"Taeko has been at the forefront of discovering and championing critically acclaimed songwriters and artists with a uniquely international approach," said Kalifowitz. "As Downtown continues to expand our global creative services team, we are delighted to have someone with Taeko's ears, experience and enthusiasm working with our roster."
