Downtown Music Publishing CEO Justin Kalifowitz Elected To National Music Publishers’ Association Bo

Downtown Music Publishing is pleased to announce that CEO Justin Kalifowitz has been elected to the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) Board of Directors for the 2015-2016 term. Kalifowitz's appointment to the board was announced last week at NMPA's Annual Meeting in New York, which also honored the likes of Billy Joel and Senator Bob Corker for their contributions to the industry.

At 33, Kalifowitz has not only led Downtown into the digital age by expanding operations to Los Angeles, Nashville, London and Amsterdam and innovating independent music publishing administration through the Songtrust service, but he has given back to the music community at large through his leadership as part of the New York Is Music initiative. New York Is Music a coalition of powerful music industry leaders across 200+ organizations that seeks to advance the importance of music in culture, education and economic development.

"It is a true privilege to join such an esteemed group of publishers on the NMPA Board" said Kalifowitz. "The organization, under the leadership of David Israelite and his excellent team, have been true champions for songwriters and their publishing partners. I'm looking forward to collaborating with my colleagues in advancing the interests of our broader creative community."
