Emily King Premieres Live From…KCRW HQ Performance

Announces Two Acoustic Performances at  92NY in NYC and in Fort Collins, CO

Debuts Robert Glasper Collaboration for STARZ Series Soundtrack

 

Friday, July 7 - Today, Emily King’s exclusive Live From…KCRW HQperformance and Q&A session airs on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. The session, recorded earlier this year in Los Angeles, features a stripped back yet spellbinding 7-song performance, including tracks from King’s most recent and critically acclaimed album, Special Occasion, alongside some of her back catalog fan favorites.  Following a nationwide headlining tour, which included performances at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Los Angeles’ Wiltern, and New York’s Terminal 5, King has announced two new intimate acoustic performances.

New York City fans will have the opportunity to see King perform on Friday, July 28at 92NY at 8PM ET. The event, held in conjunction with the Grammy Museum, will also see King in conversation, discussing the album and her inspirations. Colorado fans will have the chance to see King perform at The Armory in Downtown Fort Collins on Wednesday, August 9 at 7PM MT. King will be supported by Jessy Wilson and Brittany Davis. King’s album Special Occasion debuted in May to massive acclaim, including praises from NPR’s All Songs ConsideredOkayPlayerStereogum, and more. King recently discussed the album and her inspirations on NPR’s It’s Been A Minute as well as WNYC’s Soundcheck, which also included captivating performances of “Special Occasion,” “Medal,” and “False Start.” Most recently, King collaborated with Robert Glasper on “What Love Can Do,” the first single from the season two soundtrack of STARZ’s NAACP Image Award nominated series, Run The World. On the emotional track, King tells the story of a woman longing for a love she fears might be lost, yet hoping there’s a chance to rekindle what was.
