Country upstart to pay attention to” (TODAY.com) Don Louis, who released his debut country record Liquor Talkin' on EMPIRE Nashville in August of 2024, has been praised for his ability to sing "solid country song like nobody’s business" (MusicRow), for “bringing confidence to country music” (American Songwriter) and for his "attention-commanding" sound (Billboard).

Today (2.7), he announces Liquor Talkin' Deluxe, due April 18th, introducing the expanded project with a brand new track titled “XO” with a corresponding music video.

Louis co-wrote “XO” alongside the track’s producer Kipp Williams (Echosmith, Newsboys), and while never officially released, it has remained a fan-favorite at Louis’ live shows, with fans clamoring for it to be the next single.

Watch the “XO” music video, here:

Just ahead of Valentine’s Day, the track finds Louis at his most charming and self-assured as a self-proclaimed knight in shining armor and starched jeans, while brushing off the ones who jump to conclusions. With a rhythm impossible not to tap your feet to, “XO” blends Louis’ warm deep-Southern drawl with modern beats and tips its hat to George Strait with a “Check Yes or No” reference.

“The inspiration for ‘XO’ struck me while listening to George Strait's classic ‘Check Yes or No,’” says Louis. “I aimed to create a catchy tune that captures the thrill of connecting with someone special, while keeping that irresistible Southern country vibe. I truly believe ‘XO’ perfectly blends R&B and country.”

Liquor Talkin’ Deluxe will feature a new, Texan-latino fused version of “Mine In My Mind,” this time, featuring a collaboration with Miami-born Cuban American artist Sammy Arriaga, as well as three new songs. Pre-save the deluxe album, here: music.empi.re/liquortalkindeluxe.OOW.

Last week, Louis was featured on Brett Kissel’s “Get The Hell Out Of This Town” (1.31), and he kicked off his Nashville residency at Tin Roof last night. For more information on Don Louis, visit donlouismusic.com.
