Highlights included Sirāt, winner of the Joint Jury Prize at Cannes; Nouvelle Vague, Richard Linklater’s playful reimagining of the making of Godard’s Breathless, starring Zoey Deutch, Guillaume Marbeck, and Aubry Dullin; Charlie Kaufman's How to Shoot a Ghost; The Testament of Ann Lee, a stirring historical drama that examines the life and beliefs of the pre-Revolutionary religious figure Ann Lee, starring Amanda Seyfried and Tim Blake Nelson; and The Secret Agent, starring Wagner Moura, winner of Best Actor and winner of Best Director at Cannes.

David Lynch Heirloom

When restoring the Ojai Playhouse, authenticity was paramount for Playhouse owner David Berger. To celebrate the history of film, Berger included relics from industry pioneers such as those from iconic American filmmaker David Lynch. Lynch’s personal espresso machine resides in the Playhouse lobby, serving guests authentic beverages each day. Complete with the same coffee beans Lynch used in his lattes, the espresso machine serves as a reminder of the Playhouse’s deep connection to cinema and those who shaped it.
