Nomination comes ahead of band’s arena tour with Halestorm this fall – Tickets at evanescence.com
Evanescence's video for their empowerment single "Use My Voice" from the band's highly-praised album, The Bitter Truth, has been nominated in the "Best Rock category" at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
Click HERE to watch the video for "Use My Voice," which was directed by filmmaker Eric D. Howell, for whose 2017 film, Voice From The Stone (Emilia Clarke) Amy Lee of Evanescence wrote the end title. Howell also directed the music video for Evanescence's current Top 10 Rock Radio hit, "Better Without You": https://youtu.be/hgRClfCU1ZE

This marks the second consecutive year that Evanescence has been nominated in Best Rock. "Wasted On You," self-shot by the band during last year's COVID quarantine, also notched a nomination. For both nominations, Evanescence has been the only female-fronted band in the category.
MTV praised "Use My Voice" as "a voice for the unheard." Featuring a line-up of rock's top women on its chorus (Halestorm's Lzzy Hale, The Pretty Reckless' Taylor Momsen, Within Temptation's Sharon den Adel, and Lindsey Stirling), it was written to celebrate the power of speaking out in order to promote a more just world.
The video features the band along with a diverse group uniting for change and justice, and even features a cameo from Lzzy Hale - whose band, Halestorm, will be joining Evanescence to play arenas nationwide this fall.

Amy Lee said of "Use My Voice:" This is an era of awakening, and full of powerful beauty. I hope to inspire others to seek truth, find their own voices and use them as I step up to use mine. Don't let anybody speak for you. Only you can do that.
