Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg has officially joined the D'Addario family, signing onto the Evans Drumheads artist roster. Weinberg has been drumming with the GRAMMY Award-winning metal behemoth since 2013. Previously he was a member of punk outfit Against Me! and the New York hardcore group Madball. Famously, Weinberg toured as Bruce Springsteen's drummer for much of 2008 and 2009, filling in for his father Max Weinberg as the rhythmic force behind the E Street Band. At the time, Jay was just 18 years old.
"Great drumheads are just one of the many reasons I choose to play Evans," says Weinberg, "Being a part of the Evans / D'Addario family has made me feel like I've found my home. As players, peers, and friends, everyone in the Evans community shares the same intense passion and love for drumming. I'm honored to be included among them."
In his work with Slipknot, Jay uses Evans' Heavyweight series, Black Chrome series and EMAD Heavyweight drumheads. The band is currently on an arena tour of Europe through the middle of February.
