Get “Loaded” with The Wood Brothers at Irving Plaza 2.27

“Masters of soulful folk” (Paste) The Wood Brothers will perform material from their newly-released album, ‘The Muse’ at Irving Plaza in NYC on Thursday, February 27. 'The Muse' is their first album as a trio, with Jano Rix and his patented “shuitar” – an acoustic guitar rigged up with percussive noisemakers – joining brothers Oliver and Chris Wood to fill out their “roots-inflected blend of blues, folk and rock” (All Music Guide).

"More dynamic than ever" (Paste), bassist Chris Wood (of Medeski Martin & Wood), his brother Oliver on guitar, and percussionist Rix have been called "gripping" by the NY Times and praised for their "taut musicianship" by the LA Times. This also marks their first album as a Nashville-based band - recording at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Studios - and includes their infectious ballad “I Got Loaded.”

'The Muse' was recorded almost entirely live, with the three members standing around a tree of microphones. Here's a video of the band recording "Keep Me Around" in-studio -
