October 1st, 2024 - As autumn starts to chill your bones and the familiar sights of pumpkins, cobwebs, and ghostly figures emerge, the spooky songwriting collective LVCRFT (Evan Bogart, Amanda “MNDR” Warner, and Peter Wade) is back with a blood-curdling new release just in time for Halloween. In their first-ever album of all covers - Under The Covers - out today (10/1), the hit-making coven reinvents classic songs with their signature spooky style, offering fans a chance to BOO-gy their way through the most haunted time of year.

Last month, the band teased the upcoming album with the brand-new single, Halloween Hop,” featuring ‘Late Night with the Devil’ star and ‘Dune,’ ‘Oppenheimer,’ ‘Suicide Squad’ actor David Dastmalchain and popular YouTube, TikTok, Horror-Cosplayer and content creator, Thunderwolf, listen HERE.

With Under The Covers, the members of LVCRFT delve deep into their own inspirations, conjuring an all-new Halloween soundtrack that brings a fresh, eerie energy to beloved songs. Featuring collaborations with a host of scary talented friends like Sarah BarriosSpencer LudwigDani Millerfrom Surfbort and TRASHWORLD, and Jess Corazza from Ill Peach, it’s the rare album that just might unite the country’s growing music-lover and monster-lover divide.

This time, the crew returns to their personal favorites, and brings down the (haunted) house by applying a more modern, danceable approach to the classics. The album opens with a parody cover of The Go-Go's 1981 hit, “We Got the Beat” and continues with LVCRFT’s takes on classics like “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell, “Batman, Wolfman, Frankenstein or Dracula” by The Diamonds, “Doll Parts” by Hole, and more.

In LVCRFT’s own words, “We started witchcrafting original Halloween music back in 2019 because we had been listening to the same incredible Halloween classics for 40 years and we heard the calling from beyond to soundtrack the next 40 years. This year we had the honor to celebrate some of those iconic spooky records, that inspired us the most, by re-imagining them in our own style.”

This release follows LVCRFT’s previous Halloween projects which have been released annually since the project's inception, just in time to usher in the spooky spirit. Their breakout single Skeleton Sam from 2019’s This Is Halloween Vol. 1 has become a cult favorite, racking up millions of streams and establishing LVCRFT as the go-to group for the most wonderful time of the year, including being prominently featured in Hocus Pocus 2The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Hubie Halloween. Whether you’re carving pumpkins, officiating corpse bride nuptials, or simply getting into the Halloween spirit, Under The Covers provides the perfect soundtrack.

More about LVCRFT

What do “Teenage Dream”, “Halo”, “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin'”, “Bang Bang Bang”, “Levitating”, “SOS”, “Dynamite” and “Dark Horse” all have in common? They were all written by members of the Halloween-obsessed and spooky-music hitmaking collective, LVCRFT.

LVCRFT is the sinister spawn of spooky-obsessed hitmakers, lead by Evan Bogart, Amanda “MNDR” Warner, and Peter Wade, responsible for crafting iconic records for the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Mark Ronson, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Britney Spears and many more. When they aren’t writing smashes for the living, they are creating a year-round supply of hook-filled ghoulish pop bops to shake and wake the dead, and undead, alike. With their mantra ‘Spooky Never Sleeps’, their music showcases the power of spooky to lift the spirits all year long. Their 2019 debut album, This Is Halloween Volume 1, was touted by GQ as “a clear ancestor of iconic Halloween hits like ‘The Monster Mash’ & ‘Thriller!’”, Paper Magazine said of their 2020 album, The Sequel, “This musical coven of Hitmakers wrote a perfect Halloween album” and of their 2021 album, The ReturnHorrorBuzz proclaimed “LVCRFT has cemented itself as the go-to-musical-coven for all things spooky and horror-pop music-related.”

The excitement around the project has yielded yearly paranormal partnerships with the likes of Disney+ (Hocus Pocus 2)Netflix (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Adam Sandler’s Hubie Halloween)TikTok, Splice, Amazon Prime, Pandora, Apple Music, Spotify, and Freeform, crafting the theme song to the network’s annual 31 Nights of Halloweenprogramming for multiple years. They’ve also boasted a national partnership with Spirit Halloween stores and SiriusXM, where they co-hosted a weekly Halloween show on Volume106. Additionally, LVCRFT is now taking their talents to the live performance space, partnering with the haunt and spooky experience powerhouse, Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, to provide live entertainment and music, for third year in a row, at the legendary Queen Mary Dark Harbor in Long Beach, CA.
