LA producer, songwriter and DJ Goldroom releases his new EP 'It's Like You Never Went Away' (Downtown Records) today. The dreamy, synth-heavy four song EP was produced by Goldroom and features collaborations with rising female vocalists including Australian soul-pop star George Maple, Chela, Kayslee Collins and Nikki Segal. The music will roll out this week via a series of videos premiering exclusively on Snapchat Discover, making 'It's Like You Never Went Away,' the first EP to debut on the platform. The videos will be released consecutively over four days, collectively telling a story. Read more about Goldroom's partnership with Snapchat via the New York Times here: http://shorefi.re/1Fx41n1

Drawing unexpected songwriting inspiration from artists like Tom Petty and Ryan Adams, Goldroom turned to Southern California to create his nostalgic sound. He originally wrote the four tracks on an acoustic guitar before recording them in studio, giving the EP a melodic, effortless feel. Goldroom has produced an EP that's a perfect antidote to the fist-pumping, club-centric culture that many associate with the genre.
On the EP, Goldroom captures the chill vibes of summertime in LA, infusing them with tropical textures. "Embrace" layers George Maple's emotive vocals on top of the dreamy synth-pop track, creating an anthemic summertime song. Kayslee Collins teams up with Goldroom on the breezy "Tradewinds", while Nikki Segal adds her airy vocals to the beat-heavy "California Rain." On "Fifteen," Chela's celestial voice accompanies Goldroom's soulful, nostalgic pop, rounding out the four track EP.
Goldroom (aka Josh Legg) has garnered praise from Pitchfork, Fader, MTV, The Guardian (Band of the Week) and more, also earning 'most blogged about' honors on Hype Machine. He's toured extensively, playing a range of festivals from SXSW and Firefly to EDM gatherings like Ultra Music Festival. Dubbed "one of Los Angeles' dance music tastemakers" by Billboard, he'll play several North American festival dates this summer with his live four-piece band, including resident singer Nikki Segal.
