"LA dance music tastemaker" (Billboard) Goldroom will keep his SoCal-inspired and songwriting-focused dance music alive when he releases his new single "Waiting To Ignite" on October 16th.
Written by Goldroom (real name Josh Legg) and Tinashe (and featuring vocals by Ren Farren) the song captures the anticipation of something great, in a way foreshadowing both artists' respective musical breakthroughs.
"I really wanted to show what you could do with live instruments, and to explore the idea of a less electronic future for Goldroom," said Josh Legg about the track. "When Tinashe and I sat down together to write the song, we wrote it about just that, the future. At the time we were both in a place where the horizon looked really bright, and we wanted to write something that would convey all of the excitement and anxiety that comes along with that feeling. It can be terrifying to have the world telling you things are about to "ignite", and to me this song really captures that moment."

The new track will help usher in Goldroom's largest live tour to date. The 16-date "Waiting To Ignite" tour kicks off October 11th in Syracuse, includes a stop in NYC during CMJ, and features Goldroom taking an alternative route for a dance music concert by performing with a full live band. Tour dates here.

"Waiting to Ignite" is the first new music from Goldroom since this spring's 'It's Like You Never Went Away' EP. The EP was the first record ever premiered on SnapChat and earned praise from Billboard, Vice THUMP, Idolator and Nylon who called it "a dreamy mix of ethereal vocals and escapist melodies."
