October 27, 2023: GRAMMY-winning Southern music label Single Lock Records has announced a series of historic, one-time-only concerts celebrating its tenth anniversary in its geographic and spiritual home of Muscle Shoals, AL next month. The "for-musicians, by-musicians" (Billboard) indie label will kick off the series with a special evening celebrating the legacy of Muscle Shoals songwriter and Single Lock recording artist Donnie Fritts on November 11 at Ernest Barber, led by John Paul White and featuring Spooner Oldham, The Secret Sisters and many others. The celebration continues with a show at the Shoals Theater on November 24, headlined by the Blind Boys of Alabama, and a Rock N Roll “Free For All” at the Lava Room on November 25th with performances by The Pollies, Speckled Bird, Caleb Elliott and more. See below for a complete line-up for all three events.

This past September, Single Lock Records was the subject of a tenth anniversary panel discussion at Americana Fest, where label owners and musicians Reed Watson, Ben Tanner and John Paul White revisited highlights and lessons from a decade at the helm, and discussed the past, present and future of Muscle Shoals music. Earlier this year Single Lock once again returned to the Grammys where The Blind Boys of Alabama performed and were nominated for Best Americana Performance. To date, Single Lock artists have earned five Grammy nominations, with Cedric Burnside’s ‘I Be Trying’ winning for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2021. According to the Bitter Southerner "Single Lock, as a noun, a commodity, a philosophy, is a collection of great music from all influences and sensibilities, music made without narrow boundaries, without dollar-focused directives, and with 100% artist integrity at its core.”
