World Tour Includes Headlining Shows In Los Angeles, San Francisco & New York
Today, Sydney-based indie-alt singer-songwriter grentperez releases the music video for “Ego”, his latest single, off his upcoming project Trail Mix Tape, out September 30th via Fast Friends. Featuring a “GOOD GRENT”, and a “BAD GRENT” the visual is a humorous representation of the track, the perfect song for the summer, where grentperez’s honeyed vocals shine while he ruminates about a friend who celebrates their “successes” a little too obnoxiously.
The visual was directed by Matt Sav, whose credits include Tame Impala’s “Current In The Making”, Pond’s “Sweep Me Off My Feet”, and more. “Shooting this concept with grent was heaps of fun! grent is a great performer and really brought the energy we needed to make the gags work. All round a lovely person and a lovely time” he explains.
grentperez on the video: “The overall experience of working on the music video was great! I think the development and recording processes reflected perfectly to the tone of the song, it was fun, definitely had a few gags and ultimately light hearted. The shooting side of things was even better, with having to deal with a one day time frame the team and I were very precise and efficient with how we worked. Shoutout to Finn for being 'Bad grent' tucked behind a leather jacket and mannequin head, I believe he really tied it all together, bless him haha. Super honored to have linked up with Matt Sav, who pretty much led and tee'd up the concept on this one!”
