Today, on the heels of their life-giving live debut at Brooklyn's Pioneer Works last week, GRRL x Made of Oak deliver the latest dose of their "trance-tinged techno" (Mixmag). Out now via Psychic Hotline, brand new single "Tempest" captures the obsession of peak-hour club music that is shared by James Mapley-Brittle (GRRL) and Sylvan Esso's Nick Sanborn (Made of Oak). Forming the foundation of the two dissimilar, Durham-based producers' unexpected collaboration, their mutual love for exhilarating, Berghain-ready dance beats has led to the beginning of an exciting and entirely new body of work made for the height of a DJ set.
"Tempest" is accompanied by another mesmerizing visual from artists and directors Eric Timothy Carlson & Aaron Anderson. Recorded at Betty's studio in Chapel Hill, NC, the track was also created in the same, initial session that led to GRRL x Made of Oak's recently-released, debut single "Inertia," which PAPER Magazine says is "as much a bouncy, glitchy techno banger that should be heard in the club reverberating through a heavy subwoofer as it is ASMR-worthy ear candy on a pair of headphones."

After their hypnotic and high-energy arrival in New York City, GRRL x Made of Oak are now about to bring their live show to a special pair of events in Los Angeles this week. Tomorrow, August 3rd, they play Love Song Bar's Scenario showcase, before closing out Sylvan Esso's sold-out DJ Night at Gold Diggers on Thursday, August 4th.
