“Shooting Star” will open on Friday, November 22nd in Historic Germantown
The proceeds will be donated to “Life After Loss”
Music photographers Sandra Wallbank (Charlie Puth, OneRepublic) and Valarie Allyn Bienas (Sugarland, Kenny Chesney) are excited to announce their second exhibition at their female-owned Nashville gallery, Gypsy Cadillac, located in the vibrant Historic Germantown neighborhood. Titled "Shooting Star: An Exhibition of Art Unseen," this show will open on Friday, November 22nd, following the success of their inaugural show, "Mojave Road." The exhibition aims to create a space that explores the powerful connections between art, emotion, and the human experience.
"Shooting Star" tackles deep themes of addiction, depression, and healing through art, showcasing works from young artists who expressed profound emotions before their untimely passing. In a world where many are facing the heartache of losing children, this exhibition seeks to build connections and inspire healing through shared experiences.
Valarie’s personal journey adds a poignant depth to the exhibition. After losing her son, Z, to an accidental overdose, she underwent a profound transformation in her life and art. Her new works reflect a brave exploration of the human experience. "Shooting Star" stands as a testament to the enduring power of creativity amidst sorrow.
The exhibition will feature artwork from Valarie’s son Z, alongside pieces by Jordan Watts, the late brother of local Nashville singer-songwriter Kelsie Watts, who lost his battle with depression at a young age.The strong bond between Valarie and Kelsie has blossomed into a beautiful collaboration, allowing the artwork of both Z and Jordan to be experienced and live on forever. Additionally, Gypsy Cadillac has partnered with The Onsite Foundation’s "Life After Loss Program," donating the proceeds to this vital cause. "Shooting Star" is not just an exhibition; it is a commitment to fostering hope and support within a community facing profound challenges.
“Mojave Road” will remain open until the end of October. For more gallery details, visit https://www.gypsycadillac.com.
