Herb Alpert's 'Music Vol. 1' Hits #1

Herb Alpert has returned to #1 with his blissful and inventive new record ‘Music Vol. 1,’ which tops this week’s Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart. The new album features fresh takes on twelve of modern music’s most timeless melodies, delivered through Alpert’s iconic and unmistakable trumpet tone.

The #1 record adds to a remarkable stretch of Alpert’s career: last year’s ‘Human Nature’ LP earned him yet another GRAMMY nomination and he won a GRAMMY for Best Pop Instrumental Album for 2014’s ‘Steppin’ Out.’ Deemed “more prolific than most artists a fraction of his age” by Billboard, Herb is gearing up to release his second album of 2017 – a holiday record – later this year. More details will be announced this month.

To celebrate today’s news, Herb has just released his first music video from ‘Music Vol. 1.’ Set to the record’s euphoric reimagining of Jason Mraz’s modern classic “I’m Yours,” the visual takes a trip through every corner of the globe – paying homage to Alpert’s beloved trumpet and the loved ones that support their musicians far and wide.
