Qobuz, the certified Hi-Res hybrid streaming and download service, will sponsor and host a panel at this year’s A2IM Indie Week. Taking place June 17 – 20 at New York Law School in NYC, Qobuz will present the case for Hi-Res to the independent music industry through a workshop on Hi-Res Audio.
Qobuz has partnered with a growing catalog of independent labels since its US launch to bring certified Hi-Res music (the Recording Academy recently made an official recommendation for labels to release in Hi-Res and, now, 1,000 albums/month are released in the format, according to the RIAA) to streaming-inclined listeners.
Intended to super-serve the audiophile community and the growing audiophile-curious community, Qobuz arrived in the US this February after a decade of success in Europe, and is now playing an integral role in the widening higher-end listening landscape.
At A2IM, Qobuz will be presenting the panel "Qobuz: Who Cares About Lossless and Hi-Res Audio and Why?" (Sujan Hong, Qobuz' Director of Music Merchandising, in conversation with Cathy Bauer, VP Sales and Marketing at ABKCO Music & Records, Inc., acclaimed composer and New Amsterdam Records co-artistic director William Brittelle- new album HERE- and Robert Baird, Independent Music Professional/Educator), and participating in "Streaming - Creative Catalog Streaming Strategies," on June 19th.
Dan Mackta, Managing Director of Qobuz US, said “Qobuz is thrilled to be participating in our first Indie Week since launching our service in this country. Independent labels provide content that keeps true music fans coming back for more.”
