Today, Infinity Song – the “soulful sibling band” (NY Times) who have honed their unique musicality from an early age through a combination of formal training and a creatively nurturing family dynamic – share a new music video for their track “When The Rain Starts,” taken from their acclaimed Roc Nation debut Mad Love. Directed and edited by group member Angel Boyd, “When The Rain Starts” is a new look at the philosophical concept of existentialism as seen through a Black lens. The new music video finds Infinity Song in the vastness of the desert as they evoke, through elemental body movements, a sense of true freedom.

Infinity Song will be partnering with the United Negro College Fund for their annual UNCF “A Mind Is…” New York Gala on March 4. The band will be the opening performance of the evening and are sharing the virtual stage with Grammy-nominated singer Kenny Lattimore, who is confirmed as the closing performer, and Michelle Miller of CBS This Morning: Saturday, who is the gala’s host. Proceeds will benefit talented and deserving students across New York and the United States who lack the financial support to get to and through college, as well as UNCF’s 37 member historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). JAY-Z signed them, Kanye West collaborates with them, and Janet Jackson deems them an “inspiration” — Infinity Song’s stock rose all through 2020, and 2021 sees them on a course for even more greatness. They’ve recently performed on Colbert and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, helped kick off the BET Soul Train Awards, and have built up a burgeoning cult following on social media with viral cover performances of songs by Fleetwood Mac and Tame Impala.

It was recently announced that group member Momo Boyd will be joining ESPN and The Undefeated’s Black History Month initiative Music For The Movement/Black History Always EP to perform a spoken word piece entitled “Undefeated,” a thought-provoking call to action expressing the urgent need for the reframing of the Black narrative and claiming authorship over Black history. The EP also features music from Tobe Nwigwe, Brent Faiyaz, Tinashe, Freddie Gibbs and more, the EP is slated for release on February 26.
