Jacob Collier has unveiled a fourth song and video from new album Djesse – Volume 2, out July 19th via Hajanga Records in exclusive license to Decca/Geffen. Written by Collier just this May, “It Don’t Matter” delivers one of his funkiest creations to date, laying his and JoJo’s satin vocals over sputtering grooves of bass and body percussion. “It Don’t Matter” is on Spotify's New Music Friday playlists in 24 countries as well as “Best Of The Week” on Apple Music UK, and “Brand New Music” on Amazon UK.

Volume 2 marks the midpoint of Djesse, an epic, four-LP project spanning 40-plus songs that all explore distinct, differing musical styles. Along with JoJo, Djesse - Volume 2features dodie, Lianne La Havas, Oumou Sangaré, Chris Thile, Sam Amidon, Steve Vai, Kathryn Tickell, Becca Stevens, and MARO.
Collier crafted much of Volume 2 from the home studio in his childhood, London bedroom, performing, producing, engineering, and composing nearly everything himself while simultaneously welcoming a huge new network of collaborators into his world.
Before “It Don’t Matter,” Collier released his take on the classic “Moon River,” an a cappella master class in harmony created with 5,000 of his own vocal recordings and a dizzying array of friends, from Chris Martin and Tori Kelly to Ty Dolla $ign and Herbie Hancock. New York Magazine’s Vulture deemed it a Best New Song, “a living chorus that sticks with you long after its final note.”

Jacob is featured on Daniel Caesar’s new album CASE STUDY 01, adding a wall of voices to “RESTORE THE FEELING.”
And in the latest episode of Vox’s Earworm series, Collier helps celebrate the genius of Stevie Wonder, focusing on the musical elements that make Wonder’s music so special, especially on “Sir Duke,” one of Collier’s all-time favorite recordings.

Djesse – Volume 1 was released in December to raves, an NPR All Things Consideredinterview segment, a performance on the popular public radio show Live From Here, inclusion on the New York Times Playlist and more. Collier filmed a video series for Genius and performed at the Spotify Secret Genius Awards. Volumes 3 and 4 will be released over the next several months.
