Jacob Sartorius Talks “Fear of Intimacy”

First single of the year follows Sartorius’ “infectious” and “sharp” (American Songwriter) Lost But Found EP

Today (Feb. 2), Gen-Z musician, actor, and social media force Jacob Sartorius shares his new song, “Fear of Intimacy,” his first release of 2022. After teasing the new track to his fans – which count more than 39 million across platforms – his fans went wild and begged him to drop the new song immediately.

On the deceptively sunny track, Jacob continues to wear his heart on his sleeve, confronting his own commitment issues. Whether it be his own triggers when it comes to relationships or coping with feeling lost (which he recently shared with People Magazine), Jacob continues to be transparent about his own personal struggles in hopes to show his fans their fears and feelings are valid, and they’re not alone. Produced by Gingerbread Co (Sean Kingston, Jake Smith, iann dior) and Orion Meshorer, and co-written by Jacob, Barry Cohen, Colin James Magalong, and Orion Meshorer, the single is the first taste of his upcoming project.

When I first teased the track on my TikTok, my fans went crazy, and I knew I had to release it as soon as possible,” says Jacob Sartorius. “Connecting with my fans is hands down the best part of my career, and I’m so glad they can relate to “Fear of Intimacy” and know they are not alone in these feelings.”

“Fear of Intimacy” follows Jacob’s 2021 EP, Lost But FoundReleased just in time for his 19th birthday, the EP was his most vulnerable project to date, revealing a new chapter in Sartorius’ life in the digital spotlight. From catchy alt-rock beats to powerful pop-punk ballads, he brings an unflinching honesty about the ups-and-downs of his rise to fame: the chaos, the disconnect, the anxiety and all that comes in-between. 2022 has already proved to be a milestone year for Jacob creatively, with the January 12th release of his debut film, Breathe: The Documentary. The nearly 25-minute film chronicles Jacob’s trip to Amsterdam to meet his hero – dutch wellness guru Wim Hof, the creator of the breathwork technique that started Jacob on his journey to inner peace.
