On June 25th, Jake Scott will release his first official career collection, an eight-track EP called Goldenboy. Scott — the LA-based heartthrob — has built a name for himself with his unconventional release strategy which has made him one of streaming breakout stars and has amassed well over 250 million streams (150M+ in 2020 alone) in addition to a songwriting resume with collaborations with Jason Mraz, Aloe Blacc and many more.
On Goldenboy, Scott shares his most revealing songs to-date. This impeccably crafted record sound finds the unique ability to make a stoic Southern-bred man’s vulnerability look (and sound) sexy. Scott sheds the traditional tropes of masculinity, finding the desired moments of intimacy through letting your guard down, falling in love and tapping into the emotions of his true self.
"This record is incredibly personal to me because it’s the most honest music I’ve ever made”, says Jake Scott. “I’ve done a lot of soul searching this year, and these songs are the product of what I found. In their rawest form.”
Scott wrote these songs (mostly in a barn in Arkansas) and tapped a top-shelf collection of pop’s go-to collaborators for the project, including Noah Conrad (Ashe, Niall Horan, LANY), Rob Moose (Bon Iver, Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers), Josh Kerr (Kelsea Ballerini, Camilo Cabello, Little Big Town), Martin Johnson (Boys Like Girls, Jason Derulo), Brandon Paddock (Avril Lavigne, Christina Perri), John Greenham (Billie Eilish, Finneas, Cautious Clay) and Chad Copelin (Train, Third Eye Blind). Scott has released two singles of Goldenboy already, “Off” and “Meet My Shadow.” The singles have already generated a cumulative 2.5 million streams.
