Kesha's 'Rainbow' (Kemosabe Records/RCA Records), one of 2017's most acclaimed albums and "the best music of her career" (Rolling Stone), has earned the superstar singer her first-ever GRAMMY nominations.
'Rainbow,' which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart, received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album, and uplifting lead single "Praying"earned a Best Pop Solo Performance nomination. "Praying" has been a staple at Mainstream Top 40 radio for over 20 weeks and has been in the Top 10 for the last five weeks. It's just as popular at the Adult Top 40 chart where it's charted for five months while sitting in the Top 10 for the last 10 weeks.
These nominations are the latest accolades for 'Rainbow,' both a commercial and critical success. 'Rainbow' became Kesha's second No. 1 album of her career, topping charts in nearly 30 markets worldwide. One of 2017's best-reviewed albums, 'Rainbow' was hailed as "her best work yet" (People), "an artistic feat" (Entertainment Weekly), "her defiant, unbridled best" (USA Today), "the best she's ever sounded" (Los Angeles Times) and more. Rolling Stone chose 'Rainbow' as one of their top five albums of the year.
Kesha's 21-city "Rainbow Tour," her first solo tour since 2013's "Warrior Tour," sold out each night with incredible performances that felt like "Rainbow-Colored, Glitter-Spattered Pop Church" (Billboard) and was declared by Rolling Stone Country to be "one of the most positively uplifting, inclusive concert experiences available in 2017." NPR Music's Ann Powers said that Kesha is "the only rock star we need today," while the New York Post proclaimed that Kesha is "in the best form of her life."
Kesha is currently on the road through mid-December as part of iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball Tour, with stops in Dallas, TX and Inglewood, CA this week.
With more to come next year, 2018 is shaping up to be just as exciting for one of pop's biggest superstars.
