On Friday, Aug. 7, Lindi Ortega will release her fourth album, 'Faded Gloryville,' via Last Gang Records/ The Grand Tour, delivering everything from barnburners and bluegrass to soul-bred ballads that tell her story of yearning to evolve into something more.
To celebrate, Lindi will play New York City's Mercury Lounge tonight (Tues., Aug. 4), host an exclusive listening event in Nashville on Thurs., Aug. 6, play Nashville's Ink N' Iron Festival on Sun., Aug. 9 and then conclude with Woodsongs on Mon., Aug. 10.
In addition to multiple performances, Lindi will be featured in Magnet, BUST, Paste and Country Weekly, with a Muscle Shoals "behind-the-scenes" video premiere on Billboard tomorrow (Wed., Aug. 5) and an album premiere on VICE/Noisey Thurs., Aug. 6.
All of these follow last week's interview with NPR's Scott Simon, where Lindi sat down to discuss her range of influences -- Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn -- and strikes of songwriting inspiration that resulted in exploring the "rougher edges of fame" (NPR) with producers Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton), Colin Linden (T Bone Burnett), Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes) and John Paul White (Civil Wars).
