“...climbs into a harmonic cacophony with every beat squeezing the Blondie-esque female warrior out of you.” -LADYGUNN

Today, Liza Anne releases her new single “Devotion,” a raucous and celebratory break-up anthem about newfound freedom and rediscovering self-love. Produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen (M83, Tegan & Sara), “Devotion” encapsulates what Liza does best: deeply raw, vulnerable musical vignettes, with an unmistakable bite. Liza spoke with LADYGUNN about the song - they said the song “...climbs into a harmonic cacophony with every beat squeezing the Blondie-esque female warrior out of you.” Read Liza’s interview with LADYGUNN here: http://bit.ly/2nxTIxt

Inspired by Patti Smith's short story of the same name, "Devotion" was written in 10 minutes and, in that moment, offered Liza the clarity to end a toxic relationship. "This song is my fight for myself," says Liza.

The new single lands ahead of Liza’s fall tour with Lucy Dacus, which kicks off Oct. 9th in Louisville, KY and continues with shows in Chicago, Los Angeles and more. Liza will continue to tour through November with a run of headlining dates that includes a stop at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right and a hometown show at Nashville’s Basement East. Full tour routing below.

“Devotion” is the first new release from Nashville-based songwriter Liza Anne since her 2018 breakout album 'Fine But Dying,’ which NPR Music called “bold in both sound and subject” and which Stereogum dubbed “hard-charging.” Since the release of ‘Fine But Dying,’ Liza has kept busy - she was hand-picked by Kacey Musgraves to open for her at the Ryman Auditorium stop of her “Oh What A World” tour, she toured with Ray LaMontagne including a show at Radio City Music Hall, she opened for Paramore at their Art & Friends Festival in Nashville, and she walked for Alessandro Trincone at NYFW 2019. Liza will release more new music in 2020 - stay tuned.
