LOLO, a Jackson, TN-raised singer-songwriter who is "a[n] explosion of raw, fiery soul" (Interview) announced the release of her album 'In Loving Memory of When I Gave A Shit' today via Crush Music/Atlantic. The record is a fearless creation from the "badass, DGAF songstress" (USA Today) whose poignant voice brings to mind a version of Janis Joplin raised on TLC. 'In Loving Memory Of When I Gave A Shit' is a "bleak, brutal and beautiful" (Idolator) collection that showcases her "blunt honesty and biting observations" (PopCrush) on modern love and loss. Available on all digital retailers now: https://fanlink.to/InLovingMemory
In the music video for "Shine," which premiered on the socials for "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," LOLO recruits hometown locals, family, and friends to be part of her story, bringing the self-reflective track to life. Watch it now, here: http://bit.ly/2czvk4j
From the moment she launches into the acid-tongued "Heard It From A Friend," LOLO's crackling voice is undeniable. As a songwriter she's startlingly versatile, whether she's crooning atop pensive trip-hop piano before erupting into the barn-burning chorus ("The Devil's Gone To Dinner") or playing it coy on the Tinder-disparaging, '60s pop cribbing "No Time For Lonely." The lead single off the record, "Not Gonna Let You Walk Away," has recently amassed over 2 million combined streams after spending multiple weeks on Spotify's Viral 50 chart. The song, a wounded and confrontational search for closure, showcases LOLO's shiver-inducing vocals.
LOLO has already accrued some serious bonafides. While playing coffeehouse gigs to pursue her songwriting career, she was cast in the original Broadway production of 'Spring Awakening' as the bohemian rebel Ilse, and just last year she comprised the "terrific country score" (NY Times) for 'Songbird,' an acclaimed off-Broadway adaptation of Chekhov. She also contributed songs to Panic! At The Disco's hit #1 album 'Death Of A Bachelor,' from earlier this year. LOLO splits time between Los Angeles, New York and her hometown of Jackson, TN.
