Meet "The Innovator" of Nashville's publishing scene: Billboard profiles Big Yellow Dog Music's Carla Wallace

Billboard highlights Big Yellow Dog Music co-founder Carla Wallace in its third annual Country Power Players issue, calling her "The Innovator." The two-page spread in Billboard's Aug. 5 edition just tells the world what Big Yellow Dog Music's writer/artists have known for years.

The article outlines the non-traditional approach Wallace takes with the 10-person publishing and artist-development firm she started with Kerry O'Neil in 1998, recounting her successes with writer/aritsts Maren Morris, Meghan Trainor, Jessie James Decker and others. It also details the company's expansion into artist development and synch licensing.

"She's smart, thinks outside the box, and isn't afraid to speak her mind, which is crucial as a woman in the music world," Decker tells Billboard. "She is the epitome of a boss lady who gets it done."
