A highlight of next month's first-ever student literacy festival MightyFest (Sep 27-30 in Philadelphia) will be the free writing carnival next to the Franklin Institute on Saturday, September 29 from 10-4. Mighty Writers is pleased to announce the initial lineup of booths and activities for children and families of all ages, below.
"MightyFest will show kids what being able to write with clarity can do, and how it can make them feel," says Mighty Writers executive director Tim Whitaker. "We see what being able to write does for kids every day: grades improve, self-esteem soars, and success follows. MightyFest will help us spread the word that writing can take you places - and we'll make it fun in the process."
Other highlights of the weekend include a keynote talk by New York Times reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones, a Friday night soul dance party, and a Sunday morning gospel breakfast. See here for complete schedule: https://mightywriters.org/news/
