Milwaukee legends Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound will release their new album, 'Fine Rude Thing,' January 14. Anchored by Cebar's unique mixture of R&B, Caribbean, and New Orleans style, the record's 11 tracks bristle with energy and paint finely detailed character portraits with great wit and empathy. See below for tour dates, and check out American Songwriter's premiere of "You Owe It To You" here: http://shorefi.re/1gDDuXt

Ably supported by Tomorrow Sound (drummer Reggie Bordeaux, New Orleans-native percussionist Mac Perkins, bassist Mike Fredrickson, and Bob Jennings on keys and reeds), Cebar seamlessly blends eras and genres on 'Fine Rude Thing.' The title track lands somewhere between Elvis Costello and Buddy Holly, while "Yeah Yeah" shuffles with a roadhouse swagger and the horn-and-organ-fueled ska of "Like Loving People Do" flirts with The Talking Heads.

Cebar is a true songwriter's songwriter. Nick Lowe calls him "the real thing: a proper soulful cat with the tunes, the chops and the voice to swing this epoch back to its senses." Joe Ely says he's "an American Original," and Gabriel Roth raves, "There is something indescribably human and raw in his sound - something that you can't help to feel." Cebar also counts Bonnie Raitt, John Hiatt, and Los Lobos as longtime fans. For more than two decades, he's been crafting music that takes cues from the dance bands of western Louisiana (and his native Midwest), the streets (and 45’s) of New Orleans, and the soul/funk/blues of his youth. He's performed on A Prairie Home Companion and Mountain Stage, and earned heaps of praise everywhere from the Washington Post and Chicago Sun Times to LA Weekly and the Onion AV Club along the way.

Stay tuned for more news on the album and tour dates to be announced.
