Nilüfer Yanya, London’s 22-year-old “effortlessly smooth new soul star” (The FADER) is out today with the ALASKALASKA remix of her “Best New Track” (Pitchfork) current single “Baby Luv." With a bass-heavy, psychedelic groove pulsing through in place of the sparse, Pixies-by-way-of-Jeff-Buckley guitar chords of the original “Baby Luv,” the remix proves Nilüfer’s boundless range and “her status as one of the most promising new artists of the year” (Pitchfork).
The original “Baby Luv” has been hailed as “enchanting in its plaintive simplicity” by Stereogum, and “lush and addictive, with all the organic pop pep of 90s anthems,” by The Line of Best Fit. The track is transformed into a seductive and trance-like banger on the remix by the eclectic London six-piece, and Billboard called it “hypnotic.”

After a breakout year, Nilüfer is now getting ready to bring her emotionally-resonant live show state-side for the first time this November. Since releasing her debut single and EP “Small Crimes” just over a year ago, Nilüfer’s “brilliantly nonchalant guitar soul” (Pitchfork) has earned her a spot on Vice i-D’s Class of 2017, and praise from Nylon, NME, Vice NOISEY, Pigeons and Planes, and more. She’s been hand-picked for tours with Broken Social Scene and The xx, and now after sold-out dates in London and a busy year on the European festival circuit, Nilüfer will be playing her debut American dates in NYC and LA, respectively.
