The summer concert season is shifting into high gear, and nugs.net is bringing it to your couch via two new apps for your AppleTV. The nugs.tv app for tvOS is the first pure-play app for concert pay-per-views. Buy and watch live FullHD 1080p concert webcasts from some of this summer's biggest tours, including Phish, Dead & Company (featuring Grateful Dead members joined by John Mayer), Widespread Panic, and select concerts from venues like the Brooklyn Bowl and The Capitol Theatre. Fans can buy a pay-per-view and watch it live or On Demand after the event. Prices range from $9.99 to $29.99 depending on the artist and the event.
The LivePhish tvOS app is an adaptation of the popular Phish streaming service that debuted on iOS and Android platforms in the fall of 2014. The tvOS version offers subscription streaming of the entire LivePhish catalog of live concert audio recordings, along with access to the LivePhish webcast series. Phish has been offering pay-per-view webcasts of their concerts since 2010, streaming over 100 of their concerts live. The LivePhish iOS app consistently ranks in the Top 15 Grossing music apps in the iTunes iOS App Store.
nugs.net founder and CEO Brad Serling adds "When Apple unveiled the latest AppleTV we knew we'd found the sweet spot for our thriving concert pay-per-view business. The frictionless purchase process through fans' iTunes accounts is ideal for the impulse buy of a live concert stream."
Since 2010 nugs.net has offered hundreds of webcasts, with artists ranging from Metallica to Phish to Gary Clark, Jr. to the Grateful Dead. Until now, fans have tuned into nugs.net's webcasts via their computer or iOS or Android devices. Now with the nugs.tv app for tvOS, fans can watch directly on their AppleTV in FullHD.
