Duchess, the one-of-a-kind NYC vocal trio who blend vintage, sure-footed swing with an utterly modern insouciance, will host the first ever Duchess Variety Hour on November 29 and 30, at the Jazz Standard in NYC. Performing two sets each night, the group - singers Amy Cervini, Hilary Gardner and Melissa Stylianou - promises harmony and hijinks, proving why the Wall Street Journal says “They understand that swinging music goes hand in hand with an audacious sense of humor.” They will be joined onstage by Michael Cabe on piano, Matt Aronoff on bass and Jared Schonig on drums.
Duchess will welcome two special guests for these performances: legendary bassist Christian McBride joins them on November 29, followed by celebrated vocalist Kat Edmonson, fresh off her appearance in Woody Allen’s Café Society, on November 30.
This special Variety Hour presentation will feature the trio’s signature brand of entertainment including songs and skits, even a customized cocktail by the Jazz Standard for the occasion. Duchess will also unveil new material, from a soon-to-be announced album coming in 2017 on Anzic Records.
