Okee Dokee Brothers’ ‘Saddle Up’ DVD Documentary Now Streaming On Netflix

'Saddle Up,' the DVD documentary of the Okee Dokee Brothers' journey that inspired their latest release 'Saddle Up: A Western Adventure Album,' is now streaming on Netflix. The 44-minute documentary follows the family-folk duo of Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing on a 30-day journey through five national parks and camping along the Continental Divide. From fly-fishing in Colorado to experiencing Navajo Culture first-hand in Arizona and everything in between, you can experience this entire Western journey from your laptop. The documentary also includes educational material, music videos, and a hint of the duo's trademark tomfoolery.

For Mailander and Lansing, determining the theme of their next adventure album had to do with connecting humans with animals and nature.

"We debated for a long time about what our 3rd adventure's form of transportation would be," says the duo. "Canoeing was a perfect first adventure because canoes are a big part of the culture here in Minnesota and it's a two person activity. Hiking was a natural second because it's the most universal and inclusive outdoor activity. You don't need anything but some boots to go hiking. For our third adventure, we thought of bikes, sailing, dog sledding, and paragliding, but none of those had the classic feel we wanted. Horses did. While horseback riding isn't accessible to everyone, the innate connection between humans and animals is something everyone feels. They become like a close friend, and as we learned on our trip from the Navajo horseman Herman Cody 'You learn respect from a horse.'"

'Saddle Up: A Western Adventure Album' debuted at #5 on the Billboard Kids Chart and #4 on the New Kids Chart - it's highest debut yet - as well as #17 on American/Folk and #18 on Heatseekers.

This is the third and final adventure album following the Grammy-winning 'Can You Canoe?' and Grammy-nominated 'Through the Woods.' An illustrated storybook, 'Can You Canoe? And Other Adventure Songs,' also was released along with the album and includes a CD with songs from all three adventure albums. Order here.
