Emerging artist Olivia Wolf finds healing, rebirth and renewal following life-altering loss on her debut album, Silver Roundsout now (1.17). Across 10 songs, the intrinsically artistic storyteller opens a window into the fragility, messiness and unpredictability of one of the deepest human emotions - grief.

With champions including Brent Cobb and Steve Earle, and comparisons to “a female version of early Sturgill Simpson” (Saving Country Music), Wolf is an incoming force in Country/Americana. Raised on bluegrass in Northern California and influenced by Appalachia’s eclectic musical traditions, Wolf creates a patchwork of rhythmic bluegrass, simmering rock, salt-of-the-earth country and more. Listeners will hear a blend of her inspirations including Gillian Welch, Jamey Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Bobby Charles and others.

Produced and partially co-written by Sean McConnell (Brittney Spencer, Ashley McBryde, Amythyst Kiah), Silver Rounds showcases Wolf’s potent imagery and ability to write music that transcends the earthly realm, while addressing the questions of mortality that she wrestled with after the loss of her fiancé just two weeks before their wedding.

Silver Rounds tells the tale of riding the cosmic waves between the earthly and spiritual realms," says Wolf. "The connection of light and dark are so close and divided only by a thin line, one moment can change it all. When you lose someone unexpectedly, you find a deeper connection to the spiritual world while having to exist within the earthly one. This album tells the journey of trying to hold on to both of those worlds.”

An album steeped in intentionality from the first note to the last, Silver Rounds takes listeners on a journey of escapism (“Cosmic Appalachian Radio” & “The Veil”), questioning the universe’s plan (“Lucky One”), letting go of worry (“High Life” & “Weed King”), giving into your darkest thoughts (“Lie In Wait” & “Silver Rounds”) and your rebellious spirit (“Good Smoke Too”), acceptance (“Meet You At The Cross”) and healing (“The Wild”).

From a 1950s typewriter to a tarot card reader in Sedona, smoke-filled life revelations to omens from the afterlife, each song on the album is influenced by Wolf’s real-life experiences, while maintaining a grasp on universal emotions.
