From February 28th-March 1st, On Air Fest returns to Brooklyn's Wythe Hotel for its annual flagship festival, bringing together the vanguard of storytellers, audio creatives, multimedia artists, musicians, industry leaders and inspired listeners who are shaping the culture of sound. Announced today and on-sale now, the 2024 edition of the event described as the Sundance of Audio and "the Coachella of podcast festivals" (Fast Company) promises to push the art and business of podcasting into new territory. Led by a lineup that places media powerhouses alongside emerging voices and visionary thinkers, On Air Fest brings the medium far beyond the limits of personal listening devices, through an array of real-life experiences that give talent the opportunity to step forward and people the chance to connect.
With so much more to be revealed soon, initial programming includes a very special session from Fresh Air co-host Tonya Mosley, and exclusive live editions of Design Matters with Debbie Millman, Sing For Science with singer, songwriter and rising superstar Sid Sriram, The Allusionist with Helen Zaltzman, Twenty Thousand Hertzwith host Dallas Taylor, and the Talkhouse Podcast, which returns to On Air after its 2021 conversation between The Roots' Black Thought and Wyatt Cenac won the Webby Award for Best Live Podcast Recording. Across its upcoming three days, On Air Fest will also feature the always-anticipated Hot Pod Summit, presented in collaboration with Hot Pod and The Verge, and an expansion to three distinct stages throughout the Wythe Hotel. In addition to the Main Stage headliners, and the non-stop live tapings that attendees can join in the Podcast Penthouse, this year's On Air Fest will include evening events in the cinema-style Screening Room and an array of unexpected audio installations around the hotel and beyond. Stay tuned for the full lineup coming soon, plus news from official programming partners including Vox Media Podcast Network, APM Studios, Pushkin Industries, Talkhouse and Radiotopia, and the 2024 recipient of the Audio Vanguard Award, which has honored trailblazers and icons such as CNN's Audie Cornish, This American Life's Ira Glass, Fresh Air's Terry Gross and Radiolab's Jad Abumrad.

Produced by work x work – the go-to creative agency that's been powering the podcast revolution, bringing major brands like Meta, Netflix, Sonos, Spotify, Squarespace, Target, Warner Music Group and many more into the audio movement – On Air Fest has premiered dozens of award-winning podcasts from the likes of Audible, NPR, SiriusXM, Spotify and The New York Times, produced hundreds of live sessions, convened thousand of fans each year, and created a whole new platform to elevate the artform. Since its start as a cultural experiment in 2017, On Air Fest has grown to encompass a bi-coastal, bi-annual festival, a touring vertical called On Air Presents, and On Air: The Podcast Experience, the first-ever immersive podcast experience that premiered at this past year’s Brooklyn edition.
The announcement of On Air Fest 2024 arrives on the heels of last month's On Air LA Annex, which included a full day of immersive audio installations, the launch of Interval Presents' Underwater with Jason Derulo, conversations between Brit Marling and Sam Fragoso, and much more. As On Air prepares to enter its biggest year yet, its Brooklyn festival remains the preeminent and most influential destination for storytellers and listeners, which has managed to take something as intangible as an "audio community" and gather it together in a room. Attendees can expect the event to deliver on an increasing demand for multi-sensory and communal audio experiences, as well as programming that highlights the widening definition of podcasting and a new, original and optimistic class of creatives.
